Marty's Big Break (Gulliver's Travelers) ReviewHaving read this series in order with having read Gulliver Travels first, I already had preconceived notions about who Marty was and how I was going to enjoy this story. But as I was pleasantly surprised with how I reacted to Book 1, I found myself really enjoying Book 2 - too. Unfortunately for Marty, my thoughts on him didn't change as much for the better like they did with Brayden (of Book 1).
The best part about Book 2 was the reintroduction of some characters from Gulliver Travels that we didn't see in Book 1. I really enjoyed being able to see the OTHER side of Gully's story. While I do think I liked learning about Marty and his story, he's probably my least favorite character in this series. There's a lot to him, and he's not exactly the worst guy in the world (but he's certainly not the best). I like to think of him like that ex boyfriend that you love to hate, because you really put a lot into him (when he just took a lot out of you).Marty's Big Break (Gulliver's Travelers) OverviewThe play's the thing' that Marty Perry can't seem to get himself cast in. He's actually bombed over forty auditions - talk about a tragedy! Perhaps this morning's cattle call for the national tour of Wicked will be different? No matter the outcome, Marty's in for a LOT of drama: he has a date with a cute boy who's connected to him in unexpected ways; he'll discover the whereabouts of his troubled (and MIA) ex-boyfriend; and he'll have a tumultuous run-in with his Broadway role model with a VERY surprising outcome.Actors, drama queens, and gay porn stars are the ensemble cast of "Marty's Big Break," the second of seven action-and-drama-packed short stories in the new “Gulliver's Travelers" series, based on characters from Justin Luke's bestselling gay novel, Gulliver Travels. A new one will be released each and every month - so turn off your cell phone, unwrap your noisy candy, and enjoy the shit show.

The New Amsterdam : The Biography of a Broadway Theater ReviewThis is the most beautiful book I own. I had been to the New Amsterdam in its most painful days. At this time I saw Mondo Cane and would not sit down it was such a flea bag theatre. It was a historical sight...Ziegfeld Folies et al. I really felt sad as I stood there feeling the greatness that had passed; at the time I felt... forever. Disney has brought the theatre and the feeling back. I witnessed this with my viewing of LION KING. What I felt had been lost forever can be seen in this wonderful book. The pictures before and after make one feel that nothing is impossible. The beauty that had decayed and looked irreversable has been accomplished and this book, and this theatre stand as testaments to what can be accomplished. Anyone who has walked into a theatre and felt the past rekindle will love to read this inspiring book. This book shows the cycle of a wonderful theatre and all that it was and lost and then saved. It symbolizes the rise and fall of 42nd Street as well as one beautiful theatre. This book will for once and for all show what a thetare can be and fall to and rise above. This is a wonderful book for anyone interested in Theatres anywhere and what they should symbolize to all of us.The New Amsterdam : The Biography of a Broadway Theater Overview
