The VIPs: A Novel ReviewI've read other things by this author, and I heard about this book on Twitter. Seemed like a bit of "buzz" about it. Got it right when it came out, and finished in three days. This really is a great book, full of characters you love and hate getting into situations that blow your mind! It's about 4 guy friends who grow up together only to get called together by a rapper who asks them "Which one of you bastards is my father?" Obviously this is based on Lace, that book from the 80s, and Scott Poulson-Bryant nails it. You can tell the influence but it's also something completely new with a very cool flava. My favorite characters were Joey the Miami fashion designer and Carla the model who grew up with him and his 3 friends. If you LOVE a good page-turner that will keep you up trying to finish the next chapter, read this book. I loved it!The VIPs: A Novel Overview
