The title drama is a harrowing period piece about co-joined twins in a circus freak show and it preserves both the grifter atmosphere of the carney and the dignity of its tragic characters. Several of the pieces are absurdist, and show off Phillips' linguistic prowess and humor. I particularly enjoyed COMEDY: A TRAGEDY which is a a send up of an intro to drama course.
